Four new Triumph Tiger variants expected in 2015
- Documents filed with the California Air Research Board, an emissions
regulatory body in the US, has revealed that Triumph may be launching as
many as four new variants in 2015.
- These are in addition to two base models of the existing Triumph Tiger 800. It is expected that Triumph will also be showcasing these upcoming models at the EICMA Milan motorcycle show on November 4.
- According to reports, the six models will be broadly classified into two
categories; the first one would be the touring version, named as XR
with two more additional variants in its class, named as XRX and XRT.
- The second category will be more adventure-based models, and along with
the existing XC, two new variants – the XCX and XCT will share space in
the Triumph Tiger line up.
- The XR series, being a more road-oriented motorcycle, will be equipped
with alloy wheels and a shorter suspension, while the adventure touring
based XC variants will get WP suspension and wire spoke wheels to tackle
more off road terrain.
- All models are expected to come loaded with features such as
traction control system, standard ABS, ride-by-wire, cruise control,
hand guards and adjustable riding seats. Detailed tech specs and prices
are expected to be announced at EICMA.
