New Bentley Grand Convertible concept unveiled
- Bentley has unveiled its new Grand Convertible concept just prior to the Los Angeles motor show.
- The car, which Bentley claims is its “most sophisticated open-top car
ever created”, is powered by the same 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V8
engine as the Mulsanne and Mulsanne Speed. The V8 engine makes 530bhp
and 112.1kgm of torque - that's as much as the Mulsanne Speed. In that
car, the engine is capable of achieving the 0-100kph sprint in 4.9
seconds.
- This Grand Convertible concept could also be a direction for a new
convertible version of Bentley's Mulsanne. Such a model has long been
mooted, and Bentley boss Wolfgang Dürheimer showed a concept car to
potential customers at the Pebble Beach in 2012.
- This Grand Convertible concept features unique paintwork and a ‘liquid
metal’ finish to the bonnet and windscreen frame on the outside, while
the cabin boasts leather upholstery.
