Honda announces 2015 VFR800X

  • The 2015 VFR800X gets an upgraded VTEC-equipped 800cc, DOHC, 16 valve V4 engine, which now offers increased low and mid-range torque for flexible, effortless drive and increased peak power of 106PS delivered at 10,250rpm.

  • Other highlights include Honda’s Selectable Torque Control System (HTSC), ABS brakes, full LED lighting, self-cancelling indicators, and heated grips. There’s also a revised chassis from Honda – an aluminium twin-beam frame with a lighter, revised subframe and new aluminium swingarm.
  • Both wheels are 17 inchers, with the front hollow-cast aluminium wheel fitted with dual 310mm discs, worked by radial-mount four-piston callipers. Tyres are street focussed with a 120 section front and 180 rear for optimal on-road performance.
  • For now, the new VFR800X will only be available in Europe and will be on sale from early December. Europe sees a lot of the ADV and inter-country touring crowd, particularly in the summer months. With these upgrades, Honda hopes the 2015 VFR800X will appeal to the sport/adventure touring crowd as well. Pricing has not been declared yet, but the bike is expected to be showcased in the UK at Motorcycle Live between November 22-30 2014.
